Free School Biomechanical Assessment Program
Body Clinic will be pleased not only to examine the school children, but to appraise the parents should they also be available during their child's consultation. Otherwise individual forms will be forwarded to the parents with each child's assessment results.
The assessments take about 5 minutes per child. They are divided into 3 segments - observations standing, walking and a joint range of motion study.
- standing tests reveal foot structure, leg, knee and hip alignment as well as presence or absence of scoliosis
- walking test determines both orthopedic and neurological abnormalities or absence thereof
- range of motion study indicates hip and foot restrictions or laxity
Combined, these studies enable Body Clinic Podiatrists to determine whether the child's development is within normal limits or requires intervention to prevent mechanical and orthopedic complications from developing.
If it is indicated on your child's assessment form that they require treatment, a promotional school discount on podiatry services will be offered for a period of 1 month from the assessment date.
